My Garmin 1030 battery had expanded & pushed the front of the device completely off. To replace it would cost Ā£300+ - I had nothing to lose so thought Iād give it a go myself. Found a YouTube video that took me through it step by step.
I located this kit on Subtel that included the battery & all the necessary tools for around Ā£27.
By starting & stopping the video at each step, then completing it myself, in under an hour I had a fully functioning 1030 again.
Most of the time was taken removing the original glue which was no longer fit for purpose - I replaced it with the glue from my cycle repair kit to give it a waterproof seal. I never realised it would be so simple.
Everything I needed was in the kit.
The new battery fitted perfectly and charges and functions as it should.
Iāve spent Ā£27 & saved myself Ā£300.
Couldnāt recommend this kit enough.
Now planning to tackle the wifeās Garmin explore

The kit that came with the replacement battery had everything I needed to make the repair. With luck my Garmin gps will give me a few ore years service now.

Pude reemplazar la baterĆa de mi Edge 1030 que se habĆa hinchado. SĆ³lo tengo que encontrar un tutorial en Youtube. Gracias a Subtel que me devolviĆ³ la mercancĆa que se habĆa perdido en el correo y me reembolsĆ³ el primer envĆo.

J'ai pu remplacer la batterie de mon Edge 1030 qui avait gonflĆ©. Il faut juste trouver un tuto sur Youtube. Merci Ć Subtel qui m'a renvoyĆ© la marchandise qui avait Ć©tĆ© Ć©garĆ©e par la poste et remboursĆ© le premier envoi.
